Job Description

Do you have experience managing a sales and marketing department for academic books and journals?  Do you have demonstrable knowledge on Open Access?  This 12-month maternity cover will provide you with an opportunity to manage the marketing spend, budget and activities.

Key duties:

  • Lead a team of Sales and Marketing Executives
  • Manage institutional, subscription sales, book sales and digital platforms
  • Drive development strategy for the publisher, especially within the Open Access area
  • Manage agents and ensure their performance is in line with the company’s plan
  • Work closely with the Managing Director and Head of Editorial & Production

Experience / skills required:

  • Solid and demonstrable knowledge on Open Access publishing
  • Proven background working within STM or Academic journals and books
  • Numerical and ability to read data as well as complete complex deals
  • Adaptive, pro-active and deliver alternative revenue streams
  • Proven experience in managing and leading a team
