Job Description
Are you an experienced book designer of illustrated books or a creative designer looking to launch a career in Book Publishing? A leading trade book publisher has an exciting opportunity for a Designer /Junior Designer to join their team based in Northamptonshire. You will produce high quality design for a range of non-fiction illustrated books, specialising in licensed books and formats. 

Key duties:

Follow briefs to produce and project manage high quality design work for cover and interiors of illustrated books
Check design work, ensuring it is consistent and accurate and files are ready to print
Ensure design work is delivered on time and to budget
Liaise with third-party contributors and licensors, ensuring that contributors adhere to the house-style
Opportunity to mentor and instruct junior members of team if recruited at Designer level

Experience / skills required:

Experience working as a creative designer or prior design experience in book publishing 
Experience of commissioning/managing illustrators and freelancers highly desirable
A creative and flexible approach to work, able to adapt quickly and take feedback
Excellent understanding of InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator
Good understanding of the design process
Strong problem-solving and communication skills
Able to work under pressure and to meet tight deadlines
