Job Description
A leading scientific society based in Leicestershire is looking for a Deputy Editor to join their editorial team. This is an exciting opportunity for candidates to develop content and commission authors to create print and digital content and support the continued evolution of the publication. 

Key duties:

Support the Managing Editor in the sourcing, production, and dissemination content. 
Take primary responsibility for sourcing/commissioning content in collaboration with Associate Editors and the Managing Editor. 
Play a significant role in the development of the publication alongside the senior editorial team. 
Ensure that content is delivered on budget and to schedule. 
Liaise with authors over editorial queries and proof corrections. 

Experience / skills required:

Proven editorial experience and ability to write, edit and prepare copy to a high standard. 
Previous commissioning/content development experience.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to work with external and internal stakeholders. 
Previous web content management experience.
Previous line management experience is desirable. 
Background or demonstrable interest in psychology is desirable but not essential. 
Knowledge of legal issues related to publishing is desirable but not essential.
