Job Description
A great opportunity to join a book publisher. You will be joining a small and friendly HR team in a London office and will provide a generalist HR service and support to managers and employees across all publishing and business teams.  This is a 12 month maternity cover contract. 
 
Key duties:
  • Be point of contact and provide HR advice to managers and employees
  • Advise and support on full range of employee relations matters including disciplinary and grievance, managing performance, capability and absence 
  • Update employment policies and processes and communicate to all employees
  • Assist with management of Internship programme
  • HR administration 
  • Assist with management of recruitment activity; prepare JDs, advertise roles, arrange interviews, process and track application from receipt onwards
  • Support managers with selection process; shortlisting candidates, participate in interviews as required
  • Identify and implement improvements to the recruitment processes
Experience
  • Previous experience providing  HR generalist advice and support on disciplinaries, capability, performance and absence 
  • Previous experience with Recruitment: sourcing candidates and related activities including use of LinkedIn and social media
  • Approachable and helpful at all times
  • Knowledge of employment law and HR practices
  • Able to manage sensitive staffing issues with tact and diplomacy and maintain confidentiality
  • Able to develop and sustain working relationships at all levels
