Job Description
Our client, a renowned trade book publisher is looking for a Communications Administrator to join their busy publicity team. This job is perfect for someone looking to make their first step into publicity career in book publishing 
 
Key duties:
  • Department general admin - to include travel bookings, answering the phone and handling publicity enquiries, compiling campaign roundups
  • Support the publicity team with organisation of events and launches 
  • Input events information into the website and on the events spreadsheet to ensure books are arranged 
  • Support publicists with key campaigns: researching, pitching media, arranging schedules and accompanying authors to media interviews and events
  • Arrange all aspects of review mailings, helping to draft press releases, printing labels from Biblio, photocopying releases 
  • Help to create and share content across social media channels 
  • Manage queries that come to the general publicity mailbox
  • Input events information onto the website
  • Help with prize administration
  •  Accompany authors to events and interviews
Experience / skills required:
  • Interest and understanding of UK book market and passion for reading and literature 
  • Interest and understanding of UK media
  • Experience of using and adeptness on social media channels such as Twitter, Faberbook and Instagram
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task well and know how to proritise tasks
  • Work experience in publishing and/or in bookshop
  • Great communicator
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure
