Job Description
A leading trade book publisher based in the Northampton is looking for full time Junior Editor or part time Senior Editor to join their Adult editorial team for a period of around 12months to cover a maternity. Our client is flexible and you will either an experienced book editor or have some books editorial experience as an entry level candidate or editorial assistant. This is a fantastic opportunity to work across a wide range of titles on their Adult Illustrated non-fiction list. 

Key duties:
Develop and project manage an a range of book from concept to print
Editing titles from manuscript sign off and making sure all books are produced to design and brief
Liaise with licensors and commission out of house contributors such as illustrators and packagers
Opportunity to commission new titles and apply creativity, innovation, and imaginative flair to all projects
Produce book projects that deliver real consumer benefit to deliver a profitable programme

Experience / skills required:
You will either be an experienced trade book editor ideally with some commissioning/product development experience OR you will have some books editorial experience 
Excellent proof reading and copy writing skills
Experience working in trade publishing is extremely advantageous
Project management experience or the ability to manage a workload under pressure are important to the role
Strong organisational skills 
Excellent communication skills and be a proactive team player
