Job Description
Are you looking to start your career in editorial book publishing? A leading trade publisher based in Northampton is looking for a Junior Editor to join their editorial team. This is a great entry-level opportunity for someone with a keen interest in illustrated books who is ready to start their career within publishing. 

Key duties:

Editorially develop and co-ordinate a range of books as briefed by the Head of Publishing.
Edit a range of texts from manuscript to sign-off on a range of formats and novelties. 
Ensure that all books are produced to house style and to brief. 
Propose new titles and formats based on observations of the wider book market. 
Ensure that all files meet the expected standards of editorial accuracy during all stages of the publishing process. 
Project manage a range of books, making sure that key milestones are met. 

Experience / skills required:

Some experience working within book publishing, ideally in editorial is highly desirable. 
Excellent copy-editing and proofreading skills. 
An understanding of the editorial process is desirable. 
Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks. 
Excellent communicator with a proactive and dynamic approach.
