Job Description
A leading trade publisher is looking for an experienced publishing Production Controller to work on their front list.  You will be project managing titles for print and advising on safety testing issues to ensure projects are completed on time and on budget.  This is from September until Christmas 2018.  

Key duties:

  • Monitoring schedules and chasing up customer’s production materials, shipping requirements
  • Scheduling titles and Progress chasing
  • Ensuring sales material is delivered on time
  • Ensuring all material for film output, colour separation or printing is sent to the agreed suppliers on time and correctly presented
  • Obtaining and negotiating prices for new and reissue titles
  • Dealing with co-edition publishers
  • Liaising with Accounts department with regards to customer payments and also monitoring extra expenses
  • Ensuring deliveries are on time
  • Checking and approving invoices and Compiling Purchase Orders
  • Monitoring shipping and delivery schedules, and documentation

Experience / skills required:

  • Extensive experience of publishing production, working on colour books and of safety testing is a must
  • Strong knowledge of the production lifecycle and processes
  • Ability to juggle multiple tasks to deadline
  • Strong communication and negotiating skills
