Job Description
A prestigious academic book publisher in central London has an opening for a Marketing Manager to join them for a 12 month maternity cover contract. You will use a digitally focused approach to market a range of social science books and will line manage a Marketing Assistant. 

Key duties:
Develop marketing and sales strategies which use the full marketing mix
Create engaging and effective content for campaigns and optimise email marketing activity 
Champion your list of books and input into the editorial process and list strategy 
Set objectives and sales targets for products and strive to exceed them
Showcase books to sales teams and collaborate with colleagues across the business  
Develop in-depth understanding of target customers and attend customer visits and conferences 
Manage the marketing budget for your list of books and ensure ROI is delivered
Regularly review marketing plans and results to ensure future success
Line manage a Marketing Assistant and provide coaching and support 

Experience / skills required:
Solid experience developing successful and creative marketing plans across all channels
Strong digital marketing knowledge and PPC experience 
Budget management and line management experience 
A commercial and results oriented mindset  
A collaborative and flexible approach 
Experience in publishing or marketing books is highly desirable
Knowledge of the academic publishing market would also be a plus
