Job Description
A leading global publisher of educational products is looking for a (Senior) Publisher to commission a wide range of subjects for the UK HE Schools & Further Education market. This is a strategic and varied role, where as well as working across a broad range of subjects you will also have the opportunity to shape the strategy for your own list. This is a full time role which can be based in their London or Oxford office.

Key duties:
Develop innovative and market-appropriate resources for UK schools market, with a focus on vocational and practical/technical courses
Take responsibility for delivering on time and to budget their ambitious publishing plan
Research, commission and oversee an extensive range of publishing projects
Manage the financial performance of the list and contribute to ongoing team publishing strategy
Work on wide range of subjects but you will have the opportunity to take on an area of commissioning responsibility where you will you lead strategy.

Experience / skills required:
Significant book commissioning experience is essential for this role
You must have demonstrable experience of digital and print publishing business
You will have proven experience of commissioning materials in print and digital format
A background in educational publishing is highly desired
You must have experience of strategic planning, project management and market research
A proven commercial understanding of product development is essential
You must have excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
