Job Description
A leading academic publisher are looking for a Temporary Editorial Assistant to join the STM Journals team, supporting one of their flagship engineering journals. This role is for a period of one month. Interviews taking place on September 18th.

Key duties:

  • Administering the refereeing process for journal articles using online manuscript tracking systems according to agreed procedures
  • Researching referees, adding new contacts, and updating the existing records for account holders on the online manuscript tracking systems
  • Monitoring the quality of peer reviews received and communicating to the Senior Publishing Editor where necessary
  • Dealing with enquiries from authors, reviewers, and editorial board members in a prompt manner

Experience / skills required:

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent, preferably in engineering
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook and Excel
  • Outstanding organisation, project management, written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent time management skills and an ability to prioritise
  • Able to proactively take ownership of a project
