Job Description

Great opportunity to join a leading publisher as a Technical writer, initially on a 9 month contract to start ASAP. You will be responsible for the creation of structured learning materials covering the end to end book publishing workflow. APPLICATIONS ASAP PLEASE.

 

Key duties:

·          Working within the Operations Procedures and Training Team you will be responsible for the creation and application of learning materials (procedures, training materials, tutorials) for the book Production team

·          Work closely with colleagues to analyse the end to end book and journals publishing workflow

·          Identify business workflow standards; document system release information, prepare system training notes

·          Prepare detailed documentation e.g. process overviews, procedures, system steps and other related resources

·          Responsible for creating procedures, tutorials, e-learning courses and other pertinent materials and policies

 

Experience / skills required:

·          Experience in a similar role would be ideal (technical writing)

·          Good understanding of systems used in the production process and experience in academic / STM publishing would be advantageous

·          Experience producing procedure documentation, PowerPoint presentations, e-Learning Courses, Tutorials, online content, and other media

·          Good overall communications experience including written, presentation, and online content

·          Some experience in technical writing / writing of procedures / learning materials - good eye for detail

·          Strong IT skills required but training in company software will be given
