An excellent opportunity for an experienced Commissioning Editor to join a leading academic publisher of books and journals, working on their high-quality Maths publications. This role is based in central London.

Key duties:

·          Responsible for acquiring an average of 24 new titles a year in the area of Maths

·          Identify current and future market trends and contribute to the company's editorial plan for future development

·          Liaise with authors, freelancers, and colleagues to ensure projects are delivered on time and to budget

·          Represent the company at academic conferences, university campuses and at other events

Experience / skills required:

·          Proven commissioning and list development experience in academic or STM book or journal publishing

·          A postgraduate degree in Maths would be advantageous

·          Excellent negotiation, networking and relationship management skills

·          Line management experience is desirable
