An international trade publisher in central London is looking for a Senior Production Controller / Producer (book production) to bring a range of innovative new children’s book products to market.  This is initially on a 6 month contract, with option to be extended to 1 year.  CVs ASAP please.

Key duties:

·          Production of a wide range of children’s novelty book products

·          Responsibility for delivering the product development strategy for your list

·          Be involved in the development, negotiation, creation and delivery of products

·          Responsible for all aspects of your projects from conception to delivery including costing, sourcing, scheduling, quality control and general problem solving

·          Build and manage relationships with external suppliers including negotiating terms

·          Purchase of components, ensuring all products are safe and comply with relevant legislation

·          Demonstrate an awareness of technical developments within the industry

·          Trouble shooting issues on novelty products within the department

Experience / skills required:

·          Proven experience within book production including children’s and multi-component / novelty book products  

·          Previous experience of safety testing is desirable along with knowledge of novelty manufacturing processes

·          Must be very organised and able to prioritise a busy workload effectively

·          Excellent communication and negotiation skills and the ability to develop strong relationships with suppliers and colleagues

·          Ability to work independently and within a team

·          Good commercial acumen
