A leading children’s publisher based in Somerset is looking for two Assistant Designers to undertake the design of book covers and sales material. This is a great opportunity for design graduates looking for a role in a creative and inspiring environment.

Key duties:

·          Undertake all design tasks on projects, from concept to publication

·          Create age and format  appropriate design styles, layouts and typography

·          Manage and monitor individual project schedules

·          Work closely with the allocated project editor

·          Propose innovative design options for repackaging existing content

·          Ensure all material is delivered within schedule to sales and production departments

·          Offer software support within the department

Experience / skills required:

·          A strong design portfolio (focus on book covers would be advantageous)

·          Excellent communication and presentation skills

·          Innovative and inspired approach to projects, external initiatives and events

·          A demonstrable passion for design with proven market awareness

·          Ability to provide a creative and compelling rationale for publishing projects
