We have an excellent new role with a renowned international educational publisher in Hampshire for a Project Editor. Encompassing managing their Higher Education book production programme this role requires proven four colour book production experience. Key duties:

·          Monitor title specifications, schedule and costs for all new titles

·          Liaise closely with authors to assist and manage amendments and quality control

·          Supervise the work of freelance designers, copyeditors, proofreaders and indexers

·          Act as liaison between typesetters and manufacturing

·          Contribute to process improvement by proposing and implementing best practices

·          Manage complex reprint corrections

·          Liaise closely with other team members

·          Archive all content efficiently and accurately

Experience / skills required:

·          Proven experience of 4 colour book production with firm knowledge of publishing processes

·          Excellent IT skills

·          Firm ability to copy edit and proofread

·          Experience of managing suppliers

·          Strong skills in communication with a proactive approach

·          Team player suited to a team-orientated and collaborative environment

·          Excellent eye for detail
