An innovative leading trade publishing company in Oxford, producing a range of specialist content, is now looking for a Production Controller to assist with the design and production of a range of books. Based in friendly, attractive offices in Oxford this is a unique opportunity for a Production Executive looking to take the next step in their career.

Please note this is a one year contract with the possibility of becoming permanent.

Key duties:

·          Manage the production of a list of books and other products

·          Assess the quality of images for print, pre-scan artwork and send material to repro houses

·          Use Indesign and Photoshop to redesign chapters and check images for print quality

·          Monitor and update print and shipping schedules

·          Monitor allocated budgets and negotiate with suppliers as necessary

·          Work closely with marketing teams to and supply marketing materials as required

·          Ensure high quality for all products

Experience / skills required:

·          Firm skills in Photoshop and Indesign

·          Excellent eye for detail

·          Experience of working in a book production role

·          Demonstrable skills and /or Design experience

·          Good communication skills  

·          Ability to manage time and prioritise effectively

·          Demonstrable knowledge of book production technology
