We now have a contract opportunity for an experienced Assistant Editor to join a leading STM publisher in London. You will take articles through to publication for a range of prestigious STM journals to the highest possible standard. Please note this is a 12 month fixed term contract. Key duties: · Regularly edit and deliver articles in primary research and review material · Liaise closely with internal departments, authors and senior editors · Editing and negotiation of Fast Track articles originating from North American editors · Build relationships and negotiate with external fast-track editors · Train new team editors in the journal publishing process · Check all data for accuracy and clarity of presentation Experience / skills required: · Strong editorial experience with an STM journal · Ability to work in a team and keep to strict weekly deadlines · Strong negotiation skills with medical professional bodies and other editors · Demonstrable knowledge of biological and medical sciences · Solid IT skills in regard to on screen editing · An undergraduate or postgraduate degree in biological or related science or equivalent For further information, please apply online or email a CV and salary expectations to samcoleman@atwoodtate.co.uk Contact: Sam Coleman Tel: 020 7487 8274 Atwood Tate embraces diversity and seeks to promote the benefits of diversity in all of our business activities and to develop a business culture that reflects that belief.
