An established publisher of academic books and journals in Oxfordshire is now looking for a Production Editor to manage a group of academic journals. Please note this is a fixed-term maternity cover contract. CVs as soon as possible please.

 
Key duties:
·          Liaise with academic editors for copy for publication to agreed schedules

·          Checking copy edited manuscripts

·          Select and manage external copy editors

·          Organise and distribute author and editor proof corrections

·          Check bound and online copy and monitor quality control

·          Build relationships with academic editors and other external/internal contacts

Experience / skills required:

·          Prior experience of academic journal production is desired

·          Strong copyediting and proofreading skills

·          A keen eye for detail

·          Proven ability to work to tight deadlines

·          Excellent communication and organisational skills
