A leading independent trade publishing company in London is now looking for a Sales Manager to take responsibility for their English language sales department. This is a role with room to grow coupled with a focus on creative sales input and excellent team management.

Key duties:

·          Manage the growth in export sales effectively and creatively

·          Demonstrate excellent leadership and staff management skills

·          Expand into new markets for the sale of English language books on an international scale

·          Produce budget and forecast reports for approval and review regularly

·          Negotiate and prepare contracts

·          Attend the Frankfurt, Bologna and London book fairs and others

·          Ensure all products are delivered on time, within budget and to high quality

·          Undertake overseas visits to existing and prospective clients

·          Think creatively about promotional ideas to help build sales in all export markets

Experience / skills required:

·          Demonstrable people management experience

·          A firm working knowledge of selling children’s books into overseas markets

·          Ability to develop key working relationships with customers, colleagues and distributors

·          Experience of managing stock control

·          A keen commercial awareness of the international English language market

·          A strong and approachable style to work and management

·          The ability to travel overseas regularly
