Job Description

We have an opportunity for a Foreign Rights Executive to join an exciting children’s publisher in their creative, attractive offices in central London. This role will take responsibility for rights sales in the Scandinavian territories. Please note this is a maternity cover contract role due to last for 12 months. Closing date of the 11th January.

Key duties:

·          Maximise co-edition and rights sales turnover and profit for agreed territories

·          Negotiate any subsidiary rights where relevant

·          Set up a sales strategy to achieve the annual co-edition and rights sales budget

·          Research and identify prospective new customers

·          Maintain an understanding of local markets and needs

·          Liaise closely with customers on scheduling, production, pricing, terms of business

·          Attending book fairs and organise/budget for sales trips where appropriate

·          Establish market intelligence to provide potential for sales

 

Experience / skills required:

·          Excellent presentation skills

·          Proven negotiation and communication skills

·          Demonstrable working knowledge of the Dutch and Scandinavian language markets

·          A results driven approach coupled with keen commercial acumen

·          Ability to organise and prioritise a busy workload

·          Able to travel internationally

·          Foreign language skills would be advantageous
