Job Description

Our client, a prestigious ELT publisher, is looking for a Development Editor to work on their post-secondary list. This is a permanent role based in London.

Key duties:

·          Liaise closely with the Commissioning Editor and project team to assist commissioning of ELT materials

·          To carry out market research to ensure market segments are identified and that the project team understands the market needs

·          Work with the Publisher and Commissioning Editor to identify and commission authors

·          Prepare initial briefs for authors and to provide authors with feedback on manuscripts

·          Manage and brief suitable readers and advisors

·          Support the Commissioning Editor in content editing of final manuscript where possible

·          Provide support to the editorial team at all stages of the editorial and production processes

·          Brief, manage and monitor freelancers

 

Experience / skills required:

·          A recognised TEFL qualification and experience of EFL teaching is essential

·          Demonstrable ELT publishing experience, preferably in the Post-secondary market

·          Experience of working on digital products would be beneficial

·          First-class written and verbal communication skills

·          Proactive and able to work to tight deadlines

·          Proven team-working and organisational skills
